The colorful lights of the carnival painted the night in many fun colors suck as blue, red, and gold. The air was thick with the smell of caramel popcorn and sweet candied apples, and laughter rang out over the distant songs and sounds of a carousel. Lucifer and Fara walked side by side, the red and white Stelciars walking and weaving through the crowd, their tails brushing against each other every now and then.

Fara’s eyes sparkled as she took in the sights, her wings fluttering every so slightly in excitement. “This is amazing,” she murmured, glancing at Lucifer, who gave her a small but warm smile.

“I’m glad you’re enjoying it,” he said. His usual composure softened in the glow of the carnival lights.

As they wandered past stalls full with prizes and games, Fara suddenly stopped in her tracks. Her gaze was fixed on one particular stand, and her ears twitched with interest.

Lucifer followed her gaze and saw it, a plushie display stacked with various stuffed animals. Among them, a single plushie caught Fara’s attention. Two white bunnies, noses pressed together as if in a kiss, with a large, soft heart nestled between them.

“That’s adorable,” Fara breathed, pressing her paws together. She turned to Lucifer, her expression hopeful. “Lucifer… do you think you can win it for me?”

Lucifer blinked at her before looking at the game stall. It was a ring toss, notorious for being deceptively difficult. His competitive side immediately sparked to life. He wasn’t about to let some carnival game stand between him and Fara’s happiness.

“Of course,” he said with a smirk, stepping up to the counter. “I’ll get you that plush.”

The game stall attendant handed him a set of rings, and Lucifer rolled his shoulders, sizing up the targets. The stakes had never felt higher. Fara watched him, her tail swishing behind her as she cheered him on.

The first ring missed its mark, bouncing off the bottle’s rim. The second was close but still fell short. Lucifer narrowed his eyes, ears flicking in irritation. He wouldn’t lose, not when Fara was looking at him with so much excitement.

Taking a slow breath, he adjusted his grip and focused. Carefully, he tossed the next ring. It spun through the air, landing perfectly on the bottle’s neck with a soft clink.

Fara let out a small gasp of delight. “You did it!”

Lucifer smirked, rolling his shoulders as if it were nothing, though relief flooded through him. The stall attendant chuckled, plucking the plush from its display and handing it to Lucifer.

“For you,” Lucifer said, turning to Fara and presenting the plush.

Fara took it gently, holding it close to her chest. “It’s perfect,” she said, her voice warm. Then, to Lucifer’s surprise, she leaned in and nuzzled against him. “Thank you.”

Lucifer felt heat rise to his face, but he allowed himself to relax into her touch, his tail lightly curling around hers. “Anything for you,” he murmured.

They continued walking through the carnival, Fara holding the plush close as if it were the most precious thing in the world. Every so often, she would glance at Lucifer with a grin from ear to ear.

As they passed by the ferris wheel, Fara tugged on Lucifer’s paw. “Let’s ride it.”

Lucifer, still slightly flustered from her earlier nuzzle, nodded. “Alright.”

They boarded one of the gondolas, and as it rose above the carnival, the world below became a sea of twinkling lights. Fara leaned against the edge, clutching her plush as she took in the view.

“It’s beautiful,” she whispered.

Lucifer wasn’t looking at the scenery. His gaze was entirely on her. The way the lights reflected in her eyes, the way her fur glowed under the soft carnival illumination...she was beautiful.

Fara turned to him, noticing his stare. “What?”

Lucifer hesitated before shaking his head, a small smile playing on his lips. “Nothing.”

Fara grinned and rested her head lightly against his shoulder. “Thank you for tonight. And for the plush. It means a lot to me.”

Lucifer chuckled softly, leaning into her just a little. “I’d win a hundred plushies for you if it made you smile like that.”

Fara giggled, squeezing the bunny plush. “You might regret saying that.”

Lucifer simply smirked. “We’ll see.”
