A New Fight: Spa Day

Lucifer was skeptical. Very skeptical.

He eyed the spa’s entrance with uncertainty, his tail flicking back and forth behind him in nervous anticipation. The building itself was beautiful, carved from smooth stone with patterns etched into the entrance, glowing faintly in the soft light of floating lanterns. It looked peaceful...but that didn’t stop his unease.

Glancing to his side, he saw Fara practically vibrating with excitement, her snowy fur fluffed slightly as she beamed at him.

“Are you sure about this?” he muttered, his voice lower than usual.

Fara laughed, nudging his side with her wing playfully. “Oh, come on, Lucifer. It’ll be fun! A nice, relaxing day for the two of us.”

Lucifer wasn’t so sure. He wasn’t exactly the pampering type. He was more of the train until exhaustion and ignore the soreness type. The thought of just lying there while someone else worked on his muscles? It felt… odd.

But Fara had looked so delighted when she suggested it, and, well… he could never really say no to her.

So here he was.

The spa’s interior was warm and inviting, the air filled with a soothing blend of lavender and chamomile. The lighting was soft, and gentle music played in the background, barely noticeable but very calming. Lucifer had to admit, it wasn’t awful.

A Phosray receptionist  greeted them with a soft smile. “Welcome! Are you both here for the couples’ relaxation package?”

Lucifer nearly choked. “The what?”

Fara giggled, her tail swishing behind her. “Yes, that’s us.”

Lucifer shot her a look, his eyes narrowing slightly, but she only smiled innocently in response.

Before he could argue, they were led to a private massage room with two tables covered in plush towels. The walls were adorned with woven tapestries depicting different outdoors sceneriesm, some had  flowing rivers, while others had soft skies, others were forests. Small lanterns flickered softly, adding to the atmosphere.

Lucifer hesitated, watching as Fara climbed onto her table with ease.

She patted the one beside her. “Come on. You’ll love it.”

Lucifer exhaled through his nose and reluctantly got onto the table, lying down stiffly. He felt awkward, unsure of what to do with his wings, but Fara just gave him an encouraging look before relaxing against the cushions.

The massage therapists were Phosrays as well, their touch cool and firm as they worked through the knots in his muscles. Lucifer hadn’t realized just how tense he was until the pressure started to ease, melting away the tightness in his shoulders.

“Huh,” he muttered, his eyes half closed as he relaxed for the first time in what felt like forever.

Fara turned her head slightly to look at him. “Told you.”

Lucifer sighed, a small smirk pulling at his lips. “Yeah, yeah.”

For once, he let himself go, surrendering to the warmth of the room, the rhythmic pressure of the massage, and the peaceful presence of Fara beside him.

After the massage, they were led to a hot spring bath, steam rising from the water in curling wisps. The natural pool was surrounded by smooth stones and bioluminescent plants that casted a soft glow along the edges. The air smelled faintly of herbs and mineral rich water.

Fara practically glowed under the dim light, the moisture clinging to her fur making her look even more beautiful. Lucifer was certain his heart was going to give out.

They slipped into the warm water, the heat instantly loosening any remaining tension. Fara let out a pleased hum, stretching her arms over her head as she leaned back. “This is perfect.”

Lucifer leaned against the smooth stone edge, watching her from the corner of his eye. “Yeah,” he said, softer this time. “It is.”

Fara turned to him, her expression gentle. “I’m really glad you came with me.”

Lucifer swallowed. He wasn’t used to moments like this, soft and slow, filled with warmth that had nothing to do with battle or adrenaline. But with Fara, it felt natural.

He hesitated only for a moment before reaching for her paw under the water. Fara blinked in surprise before her face softened, and she gave his paw a small squeeze.

“See?” she murmured. “Not so bad after all.”

Lucifer smirked, his grip tightening just slightly. “Fine. Maybe you were right.”

Fara beamed, her wings fluttering slightly in delight, and Lucifer decided that, yeah, he’d endure a hundred spa days if it meant seeing her smile like that.
