Knight in Shining Armor

The sky is dark and ominous. Not even a sliver of light can be seen in the battle field. The loud screeching sound that came from the monstrous void creature strikes fear into any stelciars and phosray’s nightmare. Tinier shadow creatures follow the cry of their leader and do its bidding, fighting against the brave souls to push back the darkness.

One of the volunteered stelciar is Nebula. His tiny wings flap like it has never before, maneuvering through the obstacles and firing a rush of pink-ish blue flames at any nearby void creatures. Nebula’s powerful tail smacks at the lucky creature that climbed up while he wasn’t looking and flies off into the distance with a loud screech.

“Oh, oops. My bad.” Nebula glides in the air gently feeling the cold breeze under his feathered wings. His dragon tail curls up once more to make it easier to fly around in the air.

He gently licks his paw before pushing it up against his ear. The dust and void splatters are everywhere on his body, but he manages to clean up most of it. 

Then he remembers his other stelciar friends who are also helping with treating the injured fellow stelciar and phosray. While Stardusts is kind and rather against violence towards other creatures, he's mostly alright with giving a helping paw with his fighting prowess. 

Though there's Lumeria and he's worried if the other is currently doing alright. He should be helping with bringing the supply for the medical tent, but the long distance traveling could prove troublesome, if Lumeria is ever up against a void creature.

Nebula frowns, feeling troubled.

“I wonder how Lumeria is doing…” 

He mumbles to himself then starts to change his course to where the larger amount of void creatures could be moving to. He took care of the more dangerous ones around the colossal void so that others would have an easier time getting to the creature itself.

It was a hard fought battle and he was injured in many places, but still he persists as everyone’s lives are on the line and if his friends are in danger then he’s willing to do anything to save them.

He needs to go check up on Nebula if the other is still at the medical site. His soft fur matted in void splotches flutters in the strong wind as he flies through the clouds.

There he sees a flash of purple flying under the rustling leaves of the trees, frantically escaping the hoard of void creatures snapping their jaws at the stelciar.

“Lumeria!” Nebula calls out to his friend, which also gains the attention of the snarling creatures, twisting their elongated bodies in Nebula's direction. The purple stelciar quickly swerves his entire body to look at where the sound is coming from and is surprised to see Nebula there.

“Nebula, what are you doing here?” 

The creature close to Lumeria snaps their blackened fangs at him and he is quick to shoot a flurry of pink flames at the void. It screams and catches the attention of their other void friends and they return back to their original goal of attacking the small purple stelciar.

“Oh no you don’t!” 

Nebula swoops in and burns at any void creatures that decide to make Lemuria a target. Lights shining and reflecting in every direction that his beautiful flame touches, scaring away some void creatures or outright incinerating them back into goop-like substance.

Lumeria stares at his tired friend, breathing hard and ragged. Still Nebula turns to look at Lemuria with a calming smile, “Are you alright?”

The smaller stelciar slowly nods before wincing slightly. He looks down to see a cut on his leg. Thankfully, it’s not deep, but the stinging feeling is there to remind him of a few moments ago when he was trying to get away from the scary creatures of the void.

“Just a bit hurt. You don’t look any better though!”

Nebula looks at himself then he waves his paw around to make Lumeria a little calmer. Even striking a confident pose to ease his concerned friend.

“Don’t worry about it, Lumeria! I’m doing fine. We should get you to Stardusts though.”

Lumeria lets out a tiny huff, but a comforting pat on his back convinces him to go back to the tent again.

“Alright, but let me go get the supply for Stardusts first. She said she needs some more painkillers.”

The taller of the two stelciar nods his head before trotting up north. His small wings flapping teasingly at Lumeria, “Ready to go? I’ll protect you.”

Lumeria playfully rolls his eyes before spreading his soft feathered wings and walking up to his friend.

“Yes yes, my knight in shining armor. Lead the way.”

The two took off into the night side by side over the lush forest once covered in a lively forage of nature. Now there’s ashes and the lingering speck of fire all around them. Dead branches hung desperately on the trees as it awaits their inevitable fall from the current ongoing battle.

Lumeria looks forlornly at the sight as he pushes on to get the medicine that his friend needed.

When they finally return to the tent with Nebula in tow, they’re greeted by a sight of Stardusts tending to a crowd of phosrays. Lumeria quickly brings the medicine up to her and she thanks them for it before giving it to her other patients still resting on the makeshift bed.

“Thanks, you two. Oh! Is it too late to say hello to Nebula for you, Lumeria?”

The three of them walk outside of the tent to get some privacy from the busy and frantic running phosrays and stelciar in the medical tent. She did all that she could and she would like to go out and stretch her tired legs a little now.

Nebula snickers and gently kicks his leg at Stardusts, which makes her let out an indignant squawk.

“Already did it. Though look at what we found on the way back.” He brings out an odd looking stick with an old skull attached to the head of it. Mystical blue gem sitting in its missing eye socket made it look really ominous.

Stardusts squint her eyes at the scepter looking stick.

“A souvenir on the way back? It looks powerful.”

Lumeria scrunches up his face before grinning, “Yeah, we blasted some void creatures on the way back.”

She sighs.

“... of course you guys did.”
