Traps, Traps and More Traps

Prince watched as the sky above turned dark and thick with dread. The Void. The Void had returned, but his Stelciar friends were ready. "Are you going to be okay if I leave you here P?" Prince jumped off the back of Comet's back. The younger adult Stelciar was itching to get into the fight, but had no intentions of leaving his friend alone. "I can get you to a safer spot..." Prince shook his head and looked up at the grey and black Stelciar. "No place is going to be safe until those Void are gone Comet.." The two nodded. "At least here I can help fight. Don't worry I'll watch my back. Go. Fight. Just make sure you win!" Comet solemly nodded, but took to the air and towards the battle. Prince watched in amazement as his truest friend shot through the darkness like a shooting star.

"Okay. I can't just sit here.. what can I do? Ah! Traps. We need to set traps for the Void... but we don't have the fire the Stelciar do.. fire.. fire. Light. Light will get rid of shadows. Maybe it will get rid of the void too." Running along the ground, Prince found patches of glowing mushrooms. He found some vines and began tying knots in the vines and laying them on the ground.

Trying to string them over branches was hard for one like Phos though. He pulled and pulled as he hung the first vine rope from a branch. "How am I going to hook the other end to that branch?" His aim was to make a spring trap. If the void stepped into the rope, it would tighten and pull the void into the trees and into the glowing mushrooms.

"Need some help mate?" Prince jumped at the voice and looked around. "I can help you get this set up.." Prince saw a very colorful Phos on the ground, standing just outside the rope circle. Before Prince could contest, the Phos hooked the looser end to another tree, which would act like a spring. "You know.. it might have just been easier to set up a box and stick instead of a rope contraption.."

Prince rolled his eyes and dropped from the branch. "Well.. this way the Void gets exposed to the *glowing* mushrooms.. what is a box gonna do?" The other Phosray thought for a moment then smiled. "We sticka really big rock on it." Prince huffed out his chest and narrowed his eyes.

"Let's tester out!" Again before Prince could tell him no, the other Phos stood in the rope trap and- nothing happened. "Mate.. you're pretty sh*t at traps aincha?"

Prince looked at the Phos, pushed a branch and into the sky the Phos went, their foot caught in the rope circle. "It wasn't finished yet... and now I have to set it up again." The Phos looked Prince down to up, as one does, and smiled a huge smile. "Name's Dean.. can ya.. get me down from here?" Prince shook his head. "Got nothing to cut you down with."

"In my pack I got a knife." Prince looked inside and pulled out the only item in the bag, a small blunt spoon. "Dean.. this isn't a knife.. It's a spoon." Dean let out the biggest belly laugh Prince had ever heard. "Ah.. you've played Knifey-Spooney before!" Prince rolled his eyes again and began pulling on the rope to loosen the knot. Once Dean was free, the two reset up the trap.

"There. All done." Prince nodded at their completed work. "Prince." Dean looked over.
"What's a Prince?"
"Me. I'm Prince." Dean smiled and grabbed Prince's wing.
"Good to meetcha mate! You have pretty bad charisma though. We've been working together for like an hour and you're *just* telling me your name?" Prince narrowed his eyes again and then gave a small smile.
"I get the impression you don't have many friends Dean.." Dean pulled away and looked down. "But I guess you have one." Closing his eyes, Prince waited for Dean to realize that Prince met himself. When the other Phosray did, he gave a big smile.
"You may regret those words mate. I can be a bit of a p*ss."
"Oh.. I know."

The two went off, setting up more traps like that one, maybe even a box trap or two as well.
