Poppo and the doe

The night sky stretched endlessly, the sky painted with the colors of deep blue and violet are filled with sparkling stars. The bright full moon glowed brightly, iluminating the peaceful world below.
Amidst the gentle night wind, Poppo drifted effortlessly as her gigantic wings carried her through the peaceful night sky. Tonight, she has a task to fulfill.
Poppo then landed softly in a thick forest. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth, but along with it something else was lingered—a sorrowful presence. Following the invitation, Poppo ventured forward until she arrived at a small clearing, where a tragic sight lay in front of her.
A doe stood motionless next to her lifeless body. The creature's spectral form trembled, her radiant form flickered like a candle's flame in a breeze. An arrow was lodged deep in the lifeless body now lying upon the ground, its warmth has long since faded. The doe's soul gazed at herself, eyes wide with shock, as if she wished for her body to rise and come to life once again.
Poppo stepped closer with a soft but firm expression, “I'm so sorry for what happened to you,” she said gently, with a voice that soothes whisper against the stillness of the forest, “But it’s time for you to go home.”
The doe’s ears perked up and suddenly, her eyes filled with tears. “No… no, I can’t! I can’t leave yet,” she whimpered, her form trembled with sorrow. “My fawn… he’s waiting for me. He’s all alone in our den,”
Poppo’s heart ached at the doe's words. It was certainly common for souls to resist, to cling to the life they once knew. She then stepped forward, careful not to startle the grieving mother, “I know it’s hard,” she said, “But if it will help you find peace…would you like to say goodbye to your little one?”
The doe’s gaze lifted at Poppo's words, “I…I can do that?”
Poppo nodded with a reassuring smile, “Of course. I can accompany you.”
And without another word, the doe turned and led Poppo through the thick woods. The trees whispered soflty as they walked, leaves rustling in the cool night breeze. And finally, they arrived at a secluded den beneath the roots of a great oak tree.
Inside, curled up against the soft ground, lay a small fawn. His chest rise and fall in a steady rhythm. The doe's soul quivered at the sight, sorrow spreading out in an unspoken waves. Stepping forward, she lowered herself in front of her child, pressing a gentle kiss against his forehead.
“I love you,” the doe whispered with a voice barely more than a breath.
She lingered, watching her fawn. Then, with tear-streaked eyes, she turned to Poppo said, “I’m ready,”
Poppo spread her wings wide and extended her paws, gesturing for the doe to come and take flight. The doe looked back at her fawn one last time, before taking her leave following Poppo into the night sky.
As the forest itself started to fade away below them as they flew higher and higher, Poppo began humming. Light and breathy voice singing a lullaby on the fresh night air. A soft and calming melody, like a mother's love for her child.
The doe’s sadness subsided with Poppo's voice, sorrow easing as she listened. She let herself be carried by the melody, her heart now lighter than it had been moments before.
The ocean stretched endlessly before them, its surface like liquid sapphire under the moon’s gaze. Poppo slowed her flight, coming to stop just above the water. “We’re here,” she said.
The doe looked around, the vastness of the sea overwhelm her but in some mysterious way, peaceful.
“It’s beautiful…” she whispered.
"It is," Poppo replied with a gentle nod before reaching forward, her paws glowing faintly. She placed them onto the doe's chest, drawing from her a radiant star— manifestation of her determination. It glows brightly, filled with the essence of the doe's love, will, and all she had strived for in what once was called life. Carefully, Poppo placed it at the top of the water’s surface, where it drifted like a golden star on the tide.
Turning back to the doe, Poppo extended her paws once more. The doe met her gaze, no longer afraid. She inhaled one last time, though she had no breath to take, then took a step forward. The ocean welcomed her as she descended, her soul dissolves into the deep sea, as her it finds its way to home at last.
“Have a peaceful rest.” Poppo whispered as the last glow of light sank beneath the waves.
