~Mizue & Coral and the chocofish~

It was a bright sunny day in the northern icy lands of Colsentia. And amongst the snow and ice, a pair of Stelciar had set up tent, near a large watery expanse next to the firm ice they sat on top of. One of the Stelciar had brilliant blue wings in the flying fish style, his calico coloured fur, almost blending into the icy surroundings, save for his brilliant blue hat that matched his fiery tail and wings. The other was a more feminine Stelciar, a white and grey tabby, with prismatic sea-jelly wings that swirled with blue, white and pink jewel like tones. The pair had decided to go ice fishing! Searching for the delectable chocofish Mizue - the one with the hat - had fished up a few days earlier. Ever since, the pair couldn't get the mouthwatering taste off of their minds and had decided to go on a mini fishing date to try and catch a few more!
"Have you ever gone fishing before, Coral?" Mizue asked, as he brought out the fishing rods.
"Nope! I mean Mori goes fishing all the time, he says it's great fun, but I'm not sure if I trust him since he said when he goes fishing he uses his paws to catch the little fish."
"Yeeaahh, Mori doesn't catch fish the conventional way hahaha. You're meant to use a rod and some bait like this, but that guy has magical luck when it comes to fishing." Mizue said nodding his head. "Anyways, first step is to hook some bait onto the end of your rod, like this!" Carefully Mizue hooked a small sugar cube to the end of his hook. "Normally how humans do it is they add a wriggling insect or maybe another fish, but to catch chocofish you need sugar cubes!"
"Huh, so that's how you catch a fish. Weird."
"Mhm! Alright, next step is you then cast your fishing rod by doing... this!" Mizue said as he drew the rod back firmly gripping it between his two front paws before flicking the rod forwards, and sending the line with the hook attached reeling off into the distance.
"Woah! That's so far I... I can't even see where the hook landed!" Coral said squinting with one paw above her eyes as she tried to discern where the line had plopped into the water.
"Yeah, it takes practice to get it right. And once you've done that you wait till you see the rod start to bob with a fish on the end. Then we'll get to the fun part."
"R-right." Coral said, focusing on her paws as she pulled her rod back before imitating Mizue and letting her line fly. Unfortunately she wasn't as strong as Mizue, and her line only went a few metres into the distance before plopping into the water with a few ripples. "Dang it... I'm nowhere near as good as you Mizue!"
"Oh don't worry my love! It's all about flicking the wrist and practice! Plus you never know! Maybe chocofish prefer to swim where your line is compared to where mine went!"
"Maybe... Well... what do we do now?"
"Now, we wait." Mizue said with a nod, settling back into his makeshift seat and grabbing a snack of some jerky he had prepared earlier.
"Okay... well... how long does it take before the fish start biting?" Coral asked, as she reached over to grab a piece of jerky from him.
"Mmm... could be a few minutes, could be a few hours."
"A FEW HOURS?! But... like... what are we going to do in the time inbetween?!" she exclaimed.
"Well, I mean... we've got each others company... we can tell each other stories of soul-guiding!" Mizue said sheepishly.
"Well... alright, and I mean if we get bored we can always play a card game or something.." Coral said with a sigh shaking her head. If I had known it was going to take hours I wouldn't have suggested this for a date night.

-- 30 minutes later --

Mizue was mulling over his cards, when he saw Coral jump up and run towards the rods. Quickly he followed suit and saw Coral's rod had caught something!
"Quick reel it in! Reel it in!" he said, grabbing her paws and helping her to reel in the fish. He showed her how to reel in fast, and then to give the fish some slack so that the line didn't break while they caught there fish. He could see Coral's eyes gleaming with excitement as she reeled in her first catch. As the fish got nearer, Mizue took over the rod, and got Coral to go get a net from their tent. Finally after several minutes, they had made their first catch, and boy was it a big one! Coral grinned from ear to ear as she lifted out her prize from the water. The chocofish was at least half a Stelciar long!!! Mizue smiled at her as she danced around the tent with her freshly caught treasure.

Well, I guess she doesn't mind fishing after all, he thought to himself.
