~Mizue and the drink for two~

 

In a small home hidden away amongst the the northern forests of Colsentia, a single calico coloured Stelciar hummed a song as he began cooking a delicious dinner for two. It was that time of year again when the Star Monarch Festival was in full swing and all the Stelciar and Phosray were busy searching for beautiful comet shards to be crowned king or queen of the festival~ However, this year Mizue hadn't had as much luck as last year. It seemed like everywhere he searched he couldn't find a single comet shard. Originally he wanted to present his beloved with a whole hoard of shards! But since his plans weren't coming to fruition he decided to cook up something special for his love. 

 

Recently on a soul guiding journey he had come across some humans drinking a mysterious drink. The humans seemed to really enjoy drinking it, so he had watched how they made such a drink, and decided to make his own at home! He had been testing his recipe over several days, and even had his best friend, Mori, come and try his concoctions a few times. The first few drinks he'd made were tasting too strong of fish! But finally he had found a combination of berries, chocofish and milk that made a delectable mlikshake! Even Mori who had downed several jugs of bad drinks, had to admit that concoction of Mizue's was divine. First of all Mizue carefully deboned the chocofish, he had to be careful not to let it melt in his hands. He had fished up the chocofish from the icy waters in the north earlier in the morning and it was fresh and still cold to the touch. Once he had deboned the fish he gently peeled off the dark chocolate skin and sliced the soft chocofish fillet into the mixing bowl. Next, he added some fresh milk he'd picked up from the town markets earlier, before he began whisking away with his little paws. Finally once the consistency had become smooth and slightly foamy, he added it to a glass with a sprig of mint on top. Pleased with his handiwork, Mizue wiped his brow, his fishy tail friends swam around his newly concocted drink belaying his excitement. Shooing his tail fire friends away, Mizue picked up his drink and carefully escorted it to the dining table. Placing two straws he had prepared ready on some napkins. He checked the clock, he was right on schedule, he thought to himself. Quickly he went to a mirror to adjust his hat, and clean up any rogue spots of chocofish he had managed to splash on himself. Suddenly he heard the bell at the front door chime. He anxiously bolted towards the door before taking a few seconds to compose himself, before opening the front door to see Coral, his beloved. 

 

Her soft fluffy grey and white fur looked freshly groomed, and her sea-jelly wings fluttered behind her as she blinked her brilliant starry pink and blue eyes up at him. 

"H-hello Coral! W-would you like to come in?" he asked, internally cursing at his own stuttering. 

"I'd be delighted to," she said in her sultry gentle voice. Mizue couldn't help but blush, as he pulled the door open wider to let her in. "I've got a surprise for you that I've been working on for a couple days now! It's been a bit of a challenge to get right but I hope you really like it!" he babbled, as he waved her over to the dining table, and pulled out her seat for her. Coral, chuckled at his endearing babbling, before gasping at the sight of Mizue's drink! 

"Wow!!! This looks amazing! It's just like what I see humans drink sometimes! Wait... don't tell me you've been making this as a surprise this whole time?!"

"Y-yeah?"

"Oh Mizue, you're so thoughtful!!!" Coral exclaimed, hugging her companion and giving him a peck on the cheek, which made his cheeks turn a darker shade of red. 

"Oh shucks... it's nothing. I think Mori had it harder test drinking all my attempts at getting this right."

"Ahaha, no wonder whenever I saw him around he seemed to be struggling to fly at super fast zoomie speeds." Coral said with a melodic laugh, "Well, shall we get to trying it out?" she asked grabbing the straws with delicate paws, and popping them into the foamy glass. 

"With pleasure!" Mizue replied with a little flourishing bow, and the pair drank the delectably sweet, rich and lightly minty drink. And a fun time was had for the pair involved~
